Bridge Lessons

This is a class designed for new players. The class covers all the basics of the game, works on improving skills, bidding conventions and techniques, strategies for playing a hand. Limited space available!
Time: 10:30am to 11:30am
Day: Fridays – January through February
Members: $15 class or $110 for an eight-week session / Non-Members: $25 class or $180 for an eight-week session. Pre-registration required.
Instructor: Larry Auerbach has been a professional bridge player for more than 20 years and has over 4,000 master points.

Creative Floral Arranging

Creative Floral Arranging is a unique class on the art of flower arranging taught by Silvia Zadarosni. Featured in May’s issue of the SRQ Magazine, Zadarosni likes to shake thing up. “A lot of people only mix tropicals with tropicals. I say ‘who’s policing your ideas?’ It’s all about colors and textures.” Zadarosni enjoys adding unique flowers into her arrangements, and uses such unexpected twists like fresh rosemary, eucalyptus and even small pineapples!  The class will be creative, informative and FUN! All ages are welcome.
Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Sit and Be Fit

Sit and Be Fit is a weight bearing exercise class that utilizes free weights, rubber tubing and other strength building equipment. The focus is on slow, controlled movement using proper form for maximum benefit and minimum risk of injury. Improve bone density, help prevent osteoporosis, improve muscle strength and endurance at your own pace. It’s never too late to start exercising!
Time: 11:30am to 12:30pm
Day: Tuesday & Thursdays, November through May

Tai Chi for Arthritis for Beginners

This was originally developed to ease the symptoms of arthritis, but it is beneficial to everyone as a general health program. Learn to improve flexibility, muscle strength and cardio-respiratory fitness while relieving stress, promoting tranquility and improving balance and quality of life.
Time: 10:15am to 11:15am
Day: Tuesdays, October through May
Members: $6 per class / Non-Members: $12 per class
Instructor: Sherry Fideler is a certified fitness and personal trainer with the Center for 7 years.

Watercolor Class for Beginners

This class is taught by local artist and instructor Sue Lynn Cotton, and teaches color mixing on the paper to enhance the color excitement of each subject. Her goal is to entertain the viewer with light and color in each painting while expressing the personality of the subject. All ages are welcome.
Time: 10am to 1pm
Day: Tuesdays, Call 778-1908 ext. 0 if interested must have 5 to start class.
Members: $20 per class / Non-Members: $29 per class. Please request a supply list. Pre-registration required.Instructor: Sue Lynn Cotton is a talented local artist and has had her artwork displayed in many Island restaurants.
