TOUR of HOMES March 15, 2008 The Tour of Homes is an Island event that involves nearly 1,500 individuals, many traveling from Lakeland, Sarasota, Longboat Key, St. Petersburg and Tampa for a touch of our Island hospitality. The tour will include five houses in Anna Maria City and Holmes Beach, which reflect various styles of island living and provide participants with ideas for interior decorating and entertainment. Baked goods, handcrafted gift and home décor items will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the Anna Maria Island Community Center. For more information, call 778-1908. Annual All-Island Blood Drive June 16 & 17, 2007 Since 2000, our beloved Community Center has been chosen as one of four non-profit organizations that have an opportunity to raise much-needed funds! If you choose us as your "charity of choice", a $100.00 donation will be made to the Anna Maria Island Community Center by an anonymous local foundation. The funds raised by blood donors go towards our Summer Camp scholarships for island children whose parents need financial assistance.

O’Connor Bowling Challenge August 25, 2007 The bowling lanes seemed to be more challenging for some more than others! Local Island twins Billy and George O'Connor, have organized this event since 1991. Historically a SELL-OUT event, everyone seems to have a lot of FUN while raising funds to better meet the needs of our youth sports programs and purchasing much needed educational equipment. Over the past 14 years the Challenge has raised more than $100,000. August 25, 2007 5:00 - 6:00pm Sign up at the AMF Bradenton Lanes located at 4208 Cortez Road in Bradenton. Bowling begins at 6:00pm. Immediately after bowling, the Awards Ceremony. Details to following mid August. (Proceeds to benefit Youth Sports at the Anna Maria Island Community Center)
Sixth Annual Anna Maria Oyster Bars Golf Charity event TBD at Palm Aire Country Club What a FANTASTIC FUNdraiser! There's delicious food and fine beverage, bogies and stogies…but most of all - lots of laughs and camaraderie! And thanks to the donations by generous companies and individuals, there are thousands of dollars worth of great raffle prizes to give away! This wonderful event was organized in 2000 by local restaurateur, John Horne, who also serves as Secretary on our Board. John and his awesome committee, along with numerous volunteers and generous sponsors, make this event such a wonderful success every year! In 2005, the one-day event raised raised over $75,000 to support youth programs and scholarships for needy children attending the Island Community Center.
Grand Opening November--Saturday, Nov. 10 Public is invited to the Grand Opening celebration of the Community Center. Details will follow.
Lester’s Family Fun Day... Pictures from our 2004 Fun Day!December 15, 2007 Chuck and Joey Lester are wonderful supporters of the Anna Maria Island Community Center. Their philanthropic spirit works year round for island youth and their families. The Family Fun Day was their idea in 2002. They wanted to have old-fashioned FUN at old-fashioned prices. There’s always a fantastic turnout during such a busy time of year! There are smiles and laughter and holiday tidings for friends old and new. There’s Old St. Nick’s arrival by fire truck, performances by little ballerinas, Bingo, crafts, a fishing pond, raffles, Turkey & Ham give-a-ways and food galore!
