| What a fantastic turn out for the 4th Annual “Lester’s Family Fun Day" - the BEST EVER! (over $1,800 raised in just 3 hours!!) There were smiles and laughter and holiday tidings for friends old and new. There was snow accompanying Santa’s awesome arrival by fire truck, face painting, cookie decorating, Christmas crafts and story telling. Don't forget the fishpond, our loveable colorful clown, Saggy Aggy, and the wonderful Puppet Show! But most of all, there was a feeling of good old-fashioned FUN with great old-fashioned prices. | |

| The Island Community Center would like to extend a heartfelt THANKS to event sponsors,
Chuck and Joey Lester, whose continued support over the years has been just incredible and to
co-sponsor, The Islander, for their terrific coverage of the event and for donating a big screen
TV for our raffle. We would also like to thank the following people and organizations for their
donations: Polli and the Duffy’s Grill Team, Publix in Holmes Beach, John Horne of the Anna Maria
Oyster Bars, "The Friends of the Library" for sponsoring Puppet Tales and Lance Snacks. Another
thanks to the Lesters for providing 40 turkeys to some lucky winners! Thanks to Miss Sara's dancers,
thanks to Bob Mullikin for transforming into a very believable Santa for 2 hours, thanks to WMFR for
being Santa’s “wheels”, thanks to The Island Hobbits for their rockin' Holiday performance, thanks to
Nica Rosa for donating beads for bracelets and Find Your Spirit for their donation to the Center's
MATCH, and thanks to the Privateers for their very generous $1,000 donation to the Island Community
Center. Also, we'd like to acknowledge all of the wonderful volunteers who so graciously gave their time, rolled up their sleeves and made this event HAPPEN: The AMI Rotary Club, the Manatee High School Key Club, The Anna Maria Kiwanis Club and the many who simply showed up and asked, “What can I do to help?” The Lester’s Family Fun Day was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come out and visit our Center, to see what we do and meet our staff.
