Identity Theft
Identity theft is everywhere – on your computer, behind you at an ATM kiosk, at the other end of a sales call. This seminar provides detailed information to help you deter, detect, and defend against identity theft. Learn how to avoid identity theft and learn what to do if your identity is stolen. Businesses can learn how to help their customers deal with identity theft, as well as how to prevent problems in the first place. Law enforcement can get resources and learn how to help victims of identity theft.

Managing Your Memory
Dr. Bill Beckwith (aka: “That Memory Guy”), along with his wife, Pam, collaborated on the book, Managing Your Memory : Practical Solutions for Forgetting. The focus on this book is to help people understand that all humans throughout life, not just in old age, are challenged by memory. He also explains the differences between short-term and long-term memory. Dr. Beckwith’s dynamic presentations and teaching methods are amazingly simple and immediately useful for individuals as well as for groups. He distills complicated information on the brain, memory, and aging into effective and easy-to-understand skills.

Building Better Brains
Learn about the effects of drugs on the brain. Dr Cheryl Kirstein, Professor at USF, is a neuroscientist and an expert at studying the development of addiction. Her laboratory has researched addiction and brain disorders for over 20 years using an animal model. In the past 10 years her work has focused on the adolescent period.
